Hi. I'm Scott for Expert Village and today I'm going to teach you how to make a Chinese
compass. So, the next part, the magnet is probably all set. So I'm going to just go
ahead and set that down. We'll pick up our magnet again and we'll take a look at our
needle. You'll see that it keeps wanting to bounce to the middle. That means that it is
ready to go. I don't know if you can see that. Can you see that alright? Yeah, so it is all
set. We'll go ahead and we'll remove our needle. We'll take the end of our string right here,
and we'll go ahead and we'll tie our needle around that. We'll just do a really simple
knot; no right way or wrong way to do this. It's just a needle hanging on a piece of string.
You've just got to make sure it's tight enough that it will hold the needle and not let it
fall out. Let's see here. I'm just going to do a normal cross-over knot; not like tying
your shoes or anything. Let's throw this underneath here and just pull that nice and tight. There
we go. So, now we have that all set and the needle is suspended happily. Be sure to tune
in to the other segments of this series to make sure that you can properly follow all
of the necessary steps in order to properly finish this project.
