Hi I'm Kerri at Zebra in Berkley and I am here to tell you how to gauge your ears. Gauging
your ears is when you go from a smaller size ear hole to a larger size ear hole. Mine are
smaller, Tim's are larger. When you want to stretch your ears most likely you are going
to be using a taper pin. Taper pins start off smaller on one end and end up thicker
on the other end. Some people stretch their ears on their own just by forcing the jewelry
through. Not recommended but it works. When you gauge your ears you are usually going
to want to use some kind of lubricant on the taper pin to help it go through. You are also
going to want to support the ear on the back side with a couple of fingers so when you
are pushing against the ear it has some resistance and goes through rather than pushing the ear
back.
