Hi! This is Richard Buccola here in New York City and on behalf of Expert Village, today
I am going to show you how to make Shrimp Cocktail. So today we are going to make Shrimp
Cocktail. I'm in New York City and I'll tell you folks I can walk down the block and get
beautiful jumbo shrimp like that. Look at how beaut. These were probably alive, yesterday.
That's how good they are. I am going to teach you how to buy good shrimp and bad shrimp
in this segment. I am also going to teach you different ways of serving it. But for
right now, let's just talk about shrimp. Shrimp has been around forever. Going back to 1926
and in the New York Times, there was actually a fancy ad for Shrimp Cocktail being the appetizer
for a special Christmas dinner. So with that said, I think it also got the name Shrimp
Cocktail because during prohibition, there was no liquor being served and the cocktail
glasses were just collecting dust. So here was a nice fancy way to put your shrimp around
your glass and say voila, here's a Shrimp Cocktail so that is how it got its name. When
I come back, we are going to go over ingredients, hardware to cook everything and service, cost
