HOW TO MAKE A LIGHT PAINTING
I'm a photographer and I also work with
a special photography feature called "light painting".
Some are expert in drawings, I mean, "light graffiti",
my technique is based on painting as a brush.
As if light were the ink, and the scene were the frame.
I discovered this technique by playing with the camera by myself.
Wondering what would happen if I make a 30 seconds photo.
I tried making with lights on, but it didn't work,
so I thought I had to turn the light off.
If I do that, I'll use a flashlight.
When I saw the picture, I got all crazy
wanting to test everything.
In order to do the light painting, you need a tripod...
the shutter button, otherwise the camera will shake...
You don't need a sophisticate camera, it just need a manual mode
for you to control separately the ISO, the diaphragm and shutter.
Normally, when taking pictures, it opens and closes,
on my picture it's different, it opens...
then the draw I make with light comes,
and it can last from 10 seconds up to 2 minutes.
You just have to be patient to test it.
The camera screen, sometimes, deceive us,
because when you look
and you zoom in, you aren't able to see if it's well-defined,
so, after making the picture, I go to the laptop to see the details.
Everything is fine...
it's a little bluish on the flashlight, so I'll...
fix the white balance...
I can see the before, the way it was on my camera,
and the after.
What we can notice, is how illuminated he is.
So the magic of this picture will be the Photoshop effect
made during shooting, during the click.
After I work on the pictures, I can also print them.
I can make a show, show them to many people,
give them as a gift to friends,
or even post them around the city.
In order to write, you can either write it backwards,
or point to the camera with the flashlight
while you're on your back to the camera,
and, as you draw, it'll be like a pen on paper.
You just have to turn off the light.
