Hello this is Needlepointers.com and today
I'd like to show you how to do the basket stitch.
This is an example of it. Okay. I'm doing it with
aida fabric here so it's easy to count the thing
I but you can do it on
with just if you're embroidering on and
anything. Okay, you come up from the bottom
I'm going to go over four
and down two to get started then you're going to come
up directly across from it on the other side
the next stitch will be right above where that
last stitch was and now
straight across and over.
What you are going to do now is where you put the stitch before
and go down and over.
Now once you get it started you can really do it
by just putting it in like this
and then it will go
really fast.
This stitch is great if you have a wide area that you need to fill in when
you're embroidering.
It's great for stems
too. And now to end it
what you want to do is go up
into the stitch above and its even at the bottom.
And that is the basket stitch.
