In this specific video you're going to learn how to install WordPress themes automatically
through the WordPress dashboard.
In order to do this all you need to do is to look to the "Appearance" section and click
on "Themes".
Click on "Install Themes" and then what you want to do is to search for a specific theme.
Now if you download a theme that is not on the WordPress site, you can actually upload
it right here.
However, first things first, we're going to go ahead and search for a theme.
Let's say for example that I want a blue theme that's three columns and let's keep it simple.
So I'm going to keep it there and I'm going to click "Find Themes".
I'm going to scroll through here, let's say for example, that I see a theme that I like
and let's say that I want to use the "Platform Theme".
What I like about this new version is if you click on the "Preview" you can actually see
the theme in action.
If I don't like it, I can click on "Close" and simply find a theme that I like.
Let's say for example, that I want to go ahead and install this, so I click on "Install Now"
and make sure that this information is correct.
Click on "Proceed", click on "Activate" and of course you can customize the theme and
configure the theme.
So we can change the layout, the general, the fonts, and different themes are different.
Some themes you can edit, some themes are not as flexible.
So you can go ahead and edit that specific theme, and of course once you're done with
that, you visit the live site.
You will see that the new theme has been activated, and if I go to "Themes" you can actually see
a list of themes here that you can also activate in the future.
However, keep in mind that every time you activate a theme, you will lose the configurations
for that theme.
So that's just something to keep in mind.
