Daraza: Now, I really just see that it's a process that works.
It's a process that works for not only the individual, it works for the agency.
It works for our communities. The process works.
Thanks you guys for coming out and having lunch with me today.
I just wanted to get you both together and let you know how happy I am with the
outcomes of what you've done for the agency with the implementation of SOAR and I
want to be able to extend to you the opportunity to work as full time SOAR specialists.
Kristin: That's incredible. That's absolutely what my goal was in this, is to
really make sure that we implemented SOAR with the agency and it will be great to be
able to do that full time. Daraza: Oh, great, that's awesome.
How do you feel? Will: Oh, that's good news, thanks Daraza.
Daraza: So I know Kristin at first, I really wasn't on board.
I was really concerned and really confused and unsure about the process but
your hard work has really demonstrated that this works and it works and it's
possible so thank you guys. I am really happy that you are accepting
that position. Kristin: Good, excellent thank you.
Will: Thanks Daraza. Daraza: It's doing something for this agency.
It's doing some good things for this agency.
It's making people believe that there is a possibility of something and I think
that's wonderful.
Duane Bones: Hey Bones, how are you men? It's good to see you.
Duane Bones: Come on, dude come on in. Will: Men, it's been a few years.
What has been going on? Duane Bones: You know what, I mean,
just being at home, watching TV and hanging out. Will: Oh, it's a great place.
Duane Bones: Thank you. Will: Congratulations.
Duane Bones: You'd like something to drink, soda or water?
Will: I'm alright actually, yeah, thanks. What have you been up to?
Duane Bones: I just hanging out, doing my work.
Will: Yeah, I see it looks great.
You did that one? Duane Bones: Yes.
I did that one. It relaxes me, it gives me something to do,
gives me something that keeps my mind occupied, i don't just sit around and think about stuff.
I am able to take care of my diet, my insulin, I mean, if you notice all those supplements,
not all is medication but I take my medication like I am suppose to and I can
actually keep track of it. Will: What else have you been up to here?
You've been gardening a little bit? Duane Bones: Oh, yeah, I have a garden of
people of medicine of church of Christ then the back out there and I do it,
and what I don't get or what I don't bring home, I give it to - and they use it in their food
boxes and stuff in the church and that's cool. Will: So you are giving back to the
community and meeting new folks? Duane Bones: Yeah.
Will: I am lucky to know you Bones and to still be in your life and be able to come
by and say hi, so -
Duane Bones: Oh yeah men, because, you know, I kind of like
wondered whatever happen to you, you know - Will: Yeah, yeah.
Duane Bones: It's been a while, he had moved on. Will: I am really, really proud of our
work around that time. He was - Duane was the first person you
know that we used the SOAR process with and if - if he wasn't so forthcoming with
the information in giving and, you know, willing to give us a shot on it, it could
have gone a totally different way and Dazara maybe would not have let us
continue to do SOAR and so I am not even sure how many folks we have serve probably
a couple of hundred, and we have you know over a 90% success rate.
Will: Don't get up, I will just take -
Really good to see you.
Duane Bones: What, what, you know, you guys come by, its great.
Will: The things are getting me over. Duane Bones: All right, have a good afternoon.
Will: Thanks, you too.
So Kristin and I worked together for a couple of years and she then got married
and moved and but she is still going to care on the SOAR towards on and spread
what the SOAR does up there out last I think and I trying to keep it, keep it
going out there.
