First of all, it is snowing. I'm not fond of it.
It's cold outside. But,
look what I got. Can you see who that's from? I'm so excited. Do you know what that means? That was just, an internet bill,
or something. But this is what I've been waiting on. Well, one of the things I've been waiting on. And it makes this the perfect
time for me to tell you about that thing that I wanted to tell you about.
come, on. I'll get this open, you just wait.
That seems like a bad method, anyways. What is all of this?
I was gonna talk to you about: Ghost Town. And I finally have my official copy of "Party in the Graveyard"
And. What is this? What is that? It's a Fueled by Ramen sticker stuck to the glue on the wrapper thingy
for a comic book, cause I'm a dork! I'm fine.
I embrace my dorkiness. I encourage others to too
look at that. Look at that!
I am so happy to have these two things right now. You just have no idea. I have been waiting for two weeks.
But, perfect timing for me to tell you about Ghost Town
there's a few things that I wanted to tell you
first of all they're amazing. And uh, then there's
this guy that I have to talk to you about. The guy that made this. I can' wait to look inside it.
the suspense is killing me literally I wanna see it so bad. But I will wait
until I'm done with that. THIS, see I can't even talk.
um, but Alister Dippner, you can
find him by typing in "imamachinist" I'll have his links around for you
his Youtube, he does the speed paintings to Ghost Town songs
those paintings that he's doing go along with the song.
That's something that I find amazing about Ghost Town.
They have a piece of art to go alone with every single one of their songs.
it's the visual of the song and I think that
that is just something fantastic. It's whole experience
And I love music and I love art. And I love Alister's
style really. I- I've also ordered a painting
from him, um, you can get prints. That's what I
ordered was a print. It wasn't an original. I'm no money bags or anything.
but you can go on his website and order his prints pretty reasonably and
they're signed. I'd say at least half of them have glow-in-the-dark
paint. Which, I, (some gibberish) glow-in-the-dark
stuff is uh, amazing to me but
I don't think the one that I ordered did. The one that I
got was the "Ghost in the Machine" one
I'm gonna show you guys some of his
work. I'll show it later after
I get done talking. But Ghost Town means a lot me because
there was a time not too
long ago when I was dealing with
some stuff within my family
that had to do with drug use and a family member
was having problems with that and it was someone really close to me
and they had been fighting this battle for
most of my life and
I felt like that had lost
they're not dead yet but I feel like they lost and
this is the end of that. And I was just watching this
these videos like I al- I do
um watching Youtube videos, I do that a lot. I love Youtube. It's one of my favorite places to be
with a warm blankey and some food. And this guy
without the wrapping on him. Cause I- I'm trying to learn ASL and I like to watch other people do it. It's always a
big help to watch them execute signs
rather than just looking up a picture in a book
so I enjoyed watching this girl
I'll put her links in the description. Her name is Anissa. She's amazing if you
like to watch ASL videos. She does a lot of pop songs but
she does some other stuff too. And one of the songs that she did was
"Universe" by Ghost Town and
I felt like that song was written
about the situation that my family member was in and it really touched
me and it meant a lot to me. It was the acoustic version
And so, it becomes, I feel
like it was a lot more personal that way
both versions of the song are amazing
and I like to listen to them both. I have both of them on a playlist on my computer
the same playlist. I'll listen to them in a row, I like the song that much. But, it really struck
a chord for me. And I was like, "Who is this band? I've got to find this band."
So I started looking up stuff on Youtube and I found them
The first song of theirs that I played of theirs that wasn't an acoustic version
I about fell in the floor. I was like, "No, this is too hard for me.
I don't- I don't listen to music like this." And I didn't
My first impression was absolutely not, I'll listen to their acoustic stuff
but this other stuff is too hard.
and then I got to listening to it, and really it's not.
Either way, it doesn't matter how hard it is. If I like it I'm going to listen to it anyways. I don't care if you think it's stupid.
But I don't remember which song it was that I heard that wasn't acoustic first. There was a lot of screaming.
And I like a good amount of screaming. I enjoy a good amount of screaming in music.
But I feel like you should be able to understand what most of the
song. You know, what most of the lyrics are without
having to look them up, but anyways after listening to a few more,
I- I just could not detach myself from this band
I fell in LOVE
And then, I jumped on that wagon
I've been a ghost ever since
But Alister has some awesome art work
You can watch him speed paint to the song that he's painting to.
He's super fast. He's like (some noise I made)
He's got some other art there on his website too.
This is, I don't know how you classify it.
I definitely think there's an element of rock there,
but there's the electronics also. So I- I don't know...
it's not like Techno, but it's... It's Ghost Town.
They're their own genre. They're completely different.
And they're signed by Fueled by Ramen.
They're going on tour with Breathe Carolina.
Oh, that was the other thing.
I wanted to tell you guys about the "We Are Savages" tour.
I might split this into two videos because I know it's getting long
I have enjoyed talking to you. You have been a very good listener this time. You haven't even messed me up once.
Check out Ghost town and Alister for sure.
Even if you don't like the music, I would for sure check Alister out
because he's one talented dude and his prints are not expensive
They're very affordable. And also, glow-in-the-dark paint
