made possible in part by liberal bias dot com would sometimes gazes into that
cereal bowl he has every single morning i don't know how he does it
and he thinks he sees liberal bias in their heat is not alone you can find out
more liberal bias dot com
nabil are sending you the the package of member
and you know it's interesting if not spelled with an *** on the
that i don't i think it would be incorrect save that for him he is just a
a european spelling
of up short-term abstract
i don't know it never seen this storm forget on what do you think of that
an a_t_f_ yet
neither actually seen that and frazier's match there is uh... really tennis
player i think is in his math
he loved it
all right well maths larson typology eyes
high standard because
you like the love that music that it's so great
government propaganda might be legalized
the obvious question is who knew it was already illegal
uh... an amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on american
audiences is being inserted into the latest offense not the defense
authorization bill according to buzzfeed the amendment would quote strike the
current ban on domestic dissemination of propaganda material produced by the
state department and the independent broadcasting board of governors
according to the summary of belie the house rules committees website this
would basically neutralized two previous acts a lot of people probably don't
realize the slowest
but they're actually are two previous acts the smith month act of nineteen
forty eight
and the foreign relations authorization act of nineteen eighty seven which have
already been passed to protect audiences from the government's own misinformation
campaign most people don't even know that those exist
i feel like entire presidential campaigns are misinformation campaign
law that's different that is not state department properly i think that's
candidly of military propaganda no question out most of it though geared
overseas
and apparently it's so effective in other words campaigns that
raising the opinion of our operation or military operations elsewhere they're
being they're they're being considered so effective overseas that why not bring
them back in institute them here in the u_s_ as well yet what its legal this is
a uh... this was a very
almost completely unnoticed press release that went out last week and it's
buried between a bunch of other higher profile issues in the six hundred forty
two
billion dollar defense bill it's a bipartisan amendment sponsored by
congress uh... a congressman mac thornbury root access and congressman
adam smith
from washington state
and basically they're still what the argument is that because of the internet
page of the current law ties the hands of america's diplomatic officials
military and others by inhibiting our ability to effectively communicate in a
credible way
saint jude's credible you need to remove
propaganda restrictions to communicate in a more credible way that doesn't make
any sense
what does the someone
brewer musher
so the big surprise here of course is that there is a ban on propaganda i mean
in the pride in the private sector we already have a huge propaganda outlook
on fox news okay that's one specific type of propaganda
palace propaganda being defined here though i mean knowingly saying something
you know isn't true
influence opinion
colin powell would be added to doing that in his presentations in the lead up
to the iraq war he he basically said
i knew the information was in good and i went with it anyway to make the case he
he admitted he was wrong
yeah i was there a difference between
between not knowing that your information is a hundred percent
accurate right or uh... not knowing that it's completely false knowing there is
no limit on this quickly for me to the question i mean look at how popular the
iraq war was initially going into it
even with the entire propaganda laws in place and it's on this and some people
are working on this thing is this a big deal is not a big deal
given the amount of misinformation people already have got uh...
circulating it seems removing these restrictions as a huge deal
it seems like it's just hard to
distinguish between
this type of propaganda in the table
sort of common use of the were propaganda that we use everyday with the
quiet you know what is the ammunition
and yes we are now
i don't want to look it up
on a level
over half of the legal definition we're gonna find a dictionary definition
yet well
the but finding a legal definition namin we can even find it legal definition of
marriage if you believe uh... oh
protest last week a form of communication that is aimed at
influencing the attitude of the community toward some cars were position
propaganda is usually repeated and disperse server wide variety of media in
order to create the desired result
in our audience betsy i mean that's fox news is propaganda according to that so
was advertised boat so it's not necessary
disinformation or or misinformation
it it could be completely factual but it is designed to influence right yeah i
don't think that that's really uh... apple couple to the specific scenario
we're really talking about another one another level altogether
yet because i suppose if if there were a bit on whatever we're talking about
it probably was not one hundred-percent factual information we're dealing with
