So what you'll need when you're working with your finished pieces to make sure that you've
given it enough drying time, which usually for me consists of at least a full day. I
like to leave things overnight. Give them a nice chance to solidify. Even if the surface
seems dry to you, it is paper. It has probably soaked through to the other side. Let it stiffen
because then it's easier to work with and cleaner as you begin to make your cuts. And
what you'll need to have also is a strong, sturdy ruler. Doesn't have to be this long,
but nice and sturdy. Or a straight edge, whatever that may be. Then you want to use your box
cutter knife for this one because it's a little more durable, little more stiff. So what you're
going to do is make sure that you've got your edge lined up with your ruler, and you're
going to go through and instead of deeply cutting, you're not actually cutting it through,
you're just going to do a light score of the surface. You hear how lightly I was cutting.
Just want to make sure that I'm doing it really lightly. And then I'm going to go around onto
the second side and show you how to do that.
