After slumping to miserable first-leg loss against Tottenham last week, Inter Milan head
into their return match at the San Siro looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit.
The 2010 UEFA Champions League winners were thoroughly beaten by Spurs at White Hart Lane
courtesy of goals from Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen.
Italian media are speculating that the jobs of head coach Andrea Stramaccioni and sports
director Marco Branca are on the line if things don't turn around soon.
The club are seemingly on their way out of Europe and have only won only three of their
last 13 matches in Serie A.
However, Stramaccioni believes his side can upset the odds to reach the quarter-finals.
"We know what our situation is in the Europa League and even if we have a restricted number
of players available, we want to honour the competition, trying to do our best. Football
is weird so let's play the match and we'll see how it goes. Three-nil is a tough result
to reverse but we will go out onto the pitch to win."
Defender Cristian Chivu echoed his manager's sentiments.
"We are aware that we have ninety minute left to play a very important match, and try also
to do what Inter needs in this difficult moment."
