This is Edwin Land
he was born in Bridgeport
Connecticut
he studied chemistry at Harvard University and after his freshman years he left Harvard for New York City
thought he was a true genius
invented some polarizing filters for your sunglasses
and different types of films for the polaroid sunglasses and parts of the things
apart from the well known sixties artist
such as Andy Warhol or Robert Mapplethorpe
Maurizio Galimberti is one of the most famous artists to use the Polariod
he has used photography
to underline the concept of rithm and dynamism
which is a feature near to cubism and futurism
Galimberti started using a Widelux camera
and since then he continued using Polaroid
he has dedicated so much time to instant photography experimenting: transfers, manipulations, potraits
and the realization of huge landscapes through hundreds of Polaroids
unfortunately today the new digital camera are replacing the old Polaroids
indeed the only way to find them is to go to the flea market
the flea market is a place where you can find any kind of knick-knacks
such as dolls, vintage cameras, glassware, cans, string puppets,
musical instruments
carboys
but
just a few know, that somewhere in this market
there's the queen of all instant cameras
the FX-70
that's a rare reflex Polaroid
so that we have the photographer
the camera and if we had had the film we
we could get awesome shoots,
so that's the problem! Films
are not only very very expensive
but they will be out of sale
from the first jenuary 2009
