Company commander jails soldier for birthday
An Army commanding officer has been accused of
pulling a prank on a subordinate that went too far.
A company commander surnamed Hsu from the
army command center's general Service Command division
wanted to give his subordinate a memorable birthday.
In January,
he called a sergeant to his office
and accused him misappropriating military funds.
The sergeant strongly denied the allegations.
The company commander then had the sergeant handcuffed
and threatened to prosecute him,
scaring the sergeant to tears.
The sergeant realized he was pranked when he saw the birthday cake
after he was led from the commander's office.
A formal complaint was filed about incident.
Military officials decided to demerit and discipline the prankster.
