SARAH HAUER: Hi. I'm Sarah Hauer. SIG HAUER: And I'm Sig Hauer, and we're professional
practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. SARAH HAUER: We're here on behalf of Expert
Village. SIG HAUER: And welcome to our video. We're going to talk about the common disorders
that are treated by acupuncture. And the World Health Organization recognizes about 40 or
50 different common disorders. The truth is we can treat just about anything. This being
an ancient medicine, it's been around for 4,000, 5,000 years. In the Orient, this has
been used to treat everything. The beauty of the medicine because we look at the whole
person, we can pretty much go in there and make changes in that person using the acupuncture,
the herbs, and the other modalities that we've talked about. But let's talk about some specific
things that if you hear this pop up if you hear your MD, for example, say, you've got
a peptic ulcer or something like that, that, "Hmm. Maybe acupuncture will work. Maybe I
don't have to have surgery. Maybe I don't have to take those prescription drugs that
have all those side effects." So, there are options for you, and this will give you just
a basic idea, and just remember that there are many, many other things that we can work
well. SARAH HAUER: Western medicine is remarkable in its ability to save lives and treat disease.
However, we do believe in some of the more traditional medicines, in particularly traditional
Chinese medicine, its power to prevent diseases from occurring in the first place is quite
remarkable.
