Hungry for new music? Look no further — we've got a feast of fresh albums in this week's
New Releases Roundup.
The punk band Off - featuring members of Black Flag, Rocket from the Crypt and Burning Brides
- is releasing its second album, Wasted Years, this week. This time the band cut the sixteen-song
album live in the studio, and the result is one of the most raw punk albums so far this
year.
Distorted guitars and a range of electronic sounds feature throughout The Future's Void,
the second album from E-M-A. The blending of her elastic, sometimes processed voice
and music that ranges from harsh to gentle makes for an intensely original recording.
Carlene Carter of the Carter Family, and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, is putting out an album of
new interpretations of her family's songs. Carter Girl features twelve tracks from her
family's songbook, and includes guest appearances from Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.
