Seasons variant throughout the year and with varying seasons come different flowers. Spring
is the best seasons for flowers. It’s the beginning of new life every where. Little
buds come through at the end of winter and by the beginning of spring there are gorgeous
blooms everywhere. Even though spring is a season in itself, the flowers at the beginning
of spring are vastly different to the flowers at the end of spring. As winter comes to an
end, lovely blossoms decorate cherry trees, apricot trees, even nectarine trees, with
each bloom possibly forming the delicious fruit that we love to enjoy eating during
the summer months. By the middle of spring, most of the blossom is gone, and, by the end,
there are none to be seen anywhere. The stunning soft pinks and whites that covered the trees
at the beginning of spring have been replaced by young fruit which will soon grow and be
picked and eaten by hungry little mouths. Ranunculus is a lovely flower that comes to
life in September. The beautiful bright, concentric blooms herald the start of spring. They are
the epitome of the beginning of life that spring signifies. The bright colors can bring
life in a cold and dreary place, which is just what we need as winter is finishing.
The days are getting longer, the weather is becoming warmer, and we’re more inclined
to go outdoors and enjoy. The beautifully delicate Lily of the Valley is a true symbol
of spring. The petite white, bell-shaped flowers add a delicate touch to any floral arrangement.
It’s also at this time that Hippeastrums abound. The large trumpet-like blooms add
color and vibrancy and bring about a feeling of lushness and abundance. The end of October
and November bring the most popular flowers of the season. Peonies are close to the number
one flower request, especially for weddings. Locally grown Peonies are at their best in
early November, with full lush blooms that start as small buds and open to the most magnificent
flower bowl. David Austin roses provide us with a sense of Old England. The ruffled petals
of this antique looking garden rose add a pretty softness that brings a smile to your
face and they’re lovely, soft fragrance fills your senses with romantic abandon. The
most dramatic flowers at this time of the year have to be Hydrangea. They’re large,
multi-flowered blooms bring a sense of grandeur to any arrangement. Anything from a brilliant
white and flowing into soft pinks, velvety violets and leading up to impactful blues,
there is a color hue for anyone. So, as you can see, the softness at the beginning of
spring is vastly different to the boldness at the end, where flowers are becoming stronger
to face the harsher conditions of summer months.
