Now here's a similar idea to the previous one except we're not playing straight quarter
notes and we're playing more of a jazz beat on the high hat. We're playing... so here's
the pattern. So the idea here is that we've got a bass drum note that's falling in between.
And you don't want to let the fact that that bass drum note is on its own there throw off
the timing. The bass drum note is on the third triplet partial, so we've really got one and
a, two and a, three and a, four. It's on the a not on the and, and when it's just sitting
there by itself you might have a tendency to play it in the wrong spot. So it's another
basic shuffle pattern with just a small variation that can really make it feel a lot different.
