>> Elliott: It looks like a school in Grand Rapids, Michigan might have the most vicious
lunch program in the US, as one elementary school lunchroom aide has been serving up
knuckle sandwiches.
>> Lee: Delicious! What kind of the knuckle do you make a sandwich out of?
>> Elliott: No, Lee, not actual sandwiches- it’s a commonly used phrase, really? Anyway,
19 year old Brooke-Wilson Johnson was taken to jail after being sentenced for the misdemeanor
offense of aiding and abetting delinquent acts, or in plain English, paying a dollar
to have a fourth grader beaten up.
>> Lee: THAT’S THE GOING RATE? I could’ve afforded that! Take inflation into account
and that’s like 55 cents when I was in school. Jennifer Kurtley would’ve never seen it
coming.
>> Elliott: Yeah, but here’s where it gets expensive, she was fined $1,125 and put on
probation for 12 months in addition to the seven days she’ll be spending behind bars.
The judge was fairly lenient considering this was Johnson’s first offense and thinks the
seven days in jail will be enough to “have the impact that we want” so once she completes
her probation the charge will be dropped.
>> Lee: But still, this woman was entrusted to care for other people’s children and
it’s a little absurd to think these charges can just be wiped away clean like the remains
of a delicious knuckle sandwich off of a counter top.
>> Elliott: Again, not a real sandwich.
>> Lee: Just share your lunch with me!
>> Elliott: What could make a 19 year old woman want a 9 year old beat up you might
ask?
>> Lee: I could think of a few reasons: if they have pudding that I want-
>> Elliott: Incriminating! No, in this case Johnson paid two nine year old boys and a
ten year old girl each a dollar to beat up another nine year old who disobeyed her instructions
in the cafeteria and called her a “pregnant ***”.
>> Lee: So that’s actually three dollars, I could just buy pudding on my own with that
kind of scratch.
>> Elliott: What do you guys think, what’s the craziest thing you’d do for a dollar?

>> Lee: I’m Lee Newton. So, what part of the knuckle do they use for this sandwich?
>> Elliott: There is no actual sandwich.
>> Lee: Morgan, you made my day and broke my heart.
