are being raided by poaches.
Mana Epiha reports.
A valuable resource of the sea.
Oyster farmer Alan Brain is angry about constant poaching.
In the last three years, oyster poaching has increased
and people like Alan have resorted to sleeping on the sea.
This problem has spread throughout the North.
As you can see, oyster farming is a strenuous task for farmers.
They're basically left to fend for themselves.
Penalties may play a part in it all,
so let's hear from one of the poachers.
Mana Epiha reporting from the Bay of Islands, Te Karere.
