How to Cook Frozen Vegetables in the Microwave
I’m here in the kitchen at Colorado State University and I’m going to show you how
to cook frozen vegetables in the microwave. So you’re going to start with your bag of
frozen veggies and this is corn, carrots, peas, and green beans. I’m just going to
cut it open, pour it into my microwave safe bowl here and set that aside. And depending
on how many you’re cooking, um, this is about three servings so I’m going to do
about three tablespoons of water. Just pour that in and this will allow them to steam
a little bit. And then you’re going to cover, um, you can put plastic wrap or cover with
a plate and I’m going to cover my bowl with a plate. And then we’re going to go over
to the microwave here and place them in the microwave. And then they’re probably going
to cook for about 4 minutes total so I’m going to do 2 minutes then I’m going to
stir them and then 2 more minutes. Beep. So, I just took the veggies out of the microwave
and I stirred them halfway through. And to know that they’re cook they should be hot
throughout but um, a little bit steamy and definitely still have their bright colors.
So here you can see like that. And afterwards you can serve them however you’d like either
plain or put butter on them and it’s as simple as that.
