I think
the renewable materials program gave me the option up looking internationally
and without that I don't know what I would be doing right now.
I didn't necessarily studyexactly how to make number and class after class after class
but was familiar enough with that to understand the process to come in and be
able to learn
a lot of the labs that we did internal materials program
relates very well the way I'm doing on a day-to-day basis
I think the best part about the renewable materials
program was the broad spectrum
processes that they teach you I think if I had ended up in some other sector
of the industry would have the same
base knowledge that I needed to be able to learn
So I've been in my position for about a year now and
over this last year I've been to a lot of different countries: India Australia,
Korea, Japan, China; a lot of places I would never go
unless I had this opportunity The materials program
has prepared me in the sense that I knew a lot of industry professionals before I
started my career
now work with them every day going through the internship really
Going through the internships really helped me learn that plywood is where I wanted to be.
And was the right path for me just the complexity of plywood I would I really like
because it challenges me every single day.
Everyone in my graduating class
got their job through the department in some form or another.
Not only do we all have jobs now,
but they're still job opportunities out there and there is still a lot of room for
still a lot of room for growth in the industy
I am lucky to have a job but,
everyone I graduated with has the job they want
