{Lymphoma Clinical Trial Participant} People in this part
of the country are pretty
down to earth, uh Nebraska,
for the most part, you,
you take what is given to you
and you either make something
out of it or you don't.
And I figured
in my own mind that,
that why not give myself the
cutting edge chance,
why not make myself part
of something
that could actually help a lot
more people
and actually make me feel
better too.
I, I chose to participate
because that's the only way
that you are going
to get involved
with the cutting edge research.
{NCCCP Project Officer} It's a public,
private partnership;
it's designed
to understand what it takes
to create a community cancer
centers network
to support cancer research
as well as how
to enhance quality care
in local communities.
{Breast Cancer Survivor} Well, and so I think
that moving the research,
bringing it
to a wider community,
making it more accessible is
incredibly important as well
as the whole,
you know evidence based
research, piece of it.
What are we learning
from the consumers,
what are we learning
from the community to inform
that research it's not being
done in isolation?
{Esophageal Cancer Survivor} If you're doing research,
uh in the hospital
and you have access
to the patients
and you have access
to this information,
and quicker you're going
to be able to consolidate this
information and use it
to possibly advance the way
that, uh cancer is treated.
{Breast Cancer Survivor} I think it would be good
if they could do more research
right where you are.
I would be one to want
to participate in it
if I still had it,
but it's gone.
But I think that would be great,
uh the more you know,
the more you can treat.
{NCCCP Project Officer} The other major goal
of the program is
to enhance quality
of cancer care
in local communities
where eighty five percent
of patients receive their care.
{*** Cancer Survivor} I think with the program
that the National Cancer
Institute has,
has put forth will give the
support to the local hospitals
to be able to do that
and give people more options
and more choices
and better health.
{Breast Cancer Survivor} My brother looked into,
uh the hospital
when I was first diagnosed
and found out that they were
affiliated with the National
Cancer Institute
and that made me,
it made all
of us feel a lot more
comfortable coming here
because we felt
like it was more state
of the art and more
up to date treatments.
{Breast Cancer Survivor) Go for it.
Full speed ahead.
I, I appreciate this,
I really do.

of cancer care starting
with research
and all towards end of life
as a network
which I think makes it different
from any other organizations
out there on cancer care.
