Hi, we're here at the Bushnell booth with Tim Tanker and one of the most exciting and
innovative products I've seen so far this year at SHOT Show
is the Bushnell Elite
Tactical
three-and-a-half to twenty one
designated marksman rifle scope
and also the one and a half to six CQB scope, Tim can you explain a
little bit about these two excellent new scopes? Yeah, we've brought
these scopes out to address a couple of different markets. First of all
there's such an increase in
tactical type shooting, free gun type shooting
on the commercial side of the business, but these scopes have actually
been designed and engineered to withstand military type applications. So
were bringing that technology into the commercial marketplace and we're putting a
scope out that's extremely robustly designed.
One of the neat things about this scope is that, as you mentioned before, it's three
and half the twenty-one power but it's a very short compact package. It's only
thirteen inches, 13 inches long.
Of course you can see that the tube size is really
massive on it, it's a thirty-four millimeter tube
fifty millimeter objective
and we've got some really nice features like locking
target turrets so
they locked in place and then we've got click stops on it.
These scopes are first focal point scopes, which means the
reticle size obviously grows as the power ring changes,
moved higher.
We've got a couple of different reticles, of course we got the old standard mil dot
which many people
us as a ranging type reticle. We've also got
another reticle in here that we call the G2DMR reticle.
It's a sophisticated
milling type reticle that allows for
windage hold offs and range holdovers. And it doesn't
even seem too busy, it seems pretty intuitive and user-friendly. I like it
quite a bit. I think that's one of the things, you know, for
shooters
who aren't training every day with their rifles that reticle is going to give
them a lot of capability
to make long-range shots without having to do extensive training to understand it.
Again, with a first focal plane scope you can use that ranging reticle at any
magnification. Correct.
So, I could talk now maybe a little bit about the 1-6.5 CQB scope.
This is a really interesting line of scopes that we've got. It's got
a wide range of applications and we think
that this scope is going to be very interesting to folks
With AR type platforms (certainly) particularly three gun
type competitors. There's actually four scopes in this line, two of them are
first focal plane and two of them are second focal plane.
It features an illuminated reticle
that allows us to use this rheostat on the side
to increase or decrease the brightness of the reticle
and
this is also a 30mm tube setup
pretty short package and of course we have a power change ring
and also our fast focus eyepiece
on these. The neat thing about these is that low-power, they work like a red dot.
They are true one power scopes. Which you can also use with
two eyes open if you need to. Exactly, and then
as you dial that power change ring up
you've got a ranging reticle. We've got a bullet drop
compensator type reticle in one, and then we've got a true mil hash
type radical on the other.
So we can use these scopes both at very close range type applications and also
lots of midrange type applications
say out to six hundred meters.
And I have to say that I've hunted with and I've used the elite line before, they are
premium quality, they're top quality
rifle scopes and one of them
I have on a spring piston air gun that takes a lot of abuse and it's absolutely
perfect, it's repeatable, sharp clicks, nice eye relief, a very good product, I'm
very impressed with them.
Well, thanks for sharing that with us, one of the things that I wanted to
mention about the Elite scopes,
the Legend scopes, and even our Trophy XLT scopes this year is that
we have a program that we call our one hundred percent bulletproof money-back
guarantee, and what that means is to the consumer who buys one of these scopes
from us, if they're not completely satisfied within one year of purchasing
that scope they can return it to us.
Money back, no questions. Outstanding, that's unheard of
that's excellent. You know, we feel strongly enough about
the quality of these scopes that we know that consumers are going to really like
them, but
we're willing to kind of lead with our chin there and say, 'hey,
put it out there
we want to make sure that consumers who try our scope for going to be
completely satisfied.' And there's a lot of reasons to use top-quality premium
optics but there's also reasons to buy more
price conscious riflescopes like the Legend line. Sure, good point, we've
got a brand new series of scopes this year we call our Legend Ultra HD's
and these scopes are planned to have retail price points between about a
hundred ninety nine and two hundred ninety nine dollars.
We've got several different power magnification ranges here, we've
got the one point five to seven,
I'm sorry, one point seven five to five.
We've got a three to nine, which is our most popular variable power
range
and then we've got four and a half to fourteen
to meet the needs of some of those longer-range shooting
applications. All these are on standard one inch tubes.
They are all one inch tubes.
The neat thing about these scopes is that
they offer a feature set at a price point that really gets a lot of value to
the consumer. We've got a one piece tube construction
which everybody agrees is the strongest way to make a rifle scope.
We've got the fast focus eyepiece here, we've got a neural power change ring
and on the 3-9 and 4.5-14 scopes
we offer a side
focus parallax adjustment.
That's something that's unique on three to nine type scopes
and it opens up the application range of these scopes to the
Rimfire shooters, .17 HMR type shooters, it's very very
versatile.
The other thing is that we offer six different reticle types,
in these scopes, we've got the Multi X, which is our most popular but
we've also got some of our DOA style reticles that offer a ranging type
reticle
with
windage hold offs and and long-range hold over type. I've
personally used them on a couple different guns in different applications
in different calibers and it's very useful and it's very
user-friendly.
Right, so we're excited about the Legend Ultra HD's
we're starting to get these into stock right now, we should
start to see them shipping very quickly
and we think we've got something for everybody here. We've even got a crossbow
scope
that has a DOA crossbow reticle
in it. So, we're trying to
offer products that will work in a lot of different applications with the Legend.
I see on this test rifle stock you also have the excellent
Millett windage adjustable rings, which it lets you zero for windage very easily
by loosening and tightening one or the other screw
and also the tactical rings, very nice six, very sturdy six screw
tactical ring, half inch
sixty-five pound inch torque wrench type fastening system, very nice. Exactly,
of course Millett's one of our sister companies and
we try to work together to make sure that we've got products that,
that sync well with our scopes. Very exciting line, nice innovative new
products. Thank you very much for sharing, appreciate it. Thanks for coming Steve, appreciate it.
