Hey, this is Dustin, one of the tech tutors her at the learning commons. In this video
I'll show you how to use Minitab to create histograms of a data set. Here in the Minitab
worksheet, I have entered data for some test scores. Go up to the "Graph" menu, select
histogram. By default, a histogram without a fit is selected, so just click OK. Now double
click on the variable that you want. Click on "Labels", then enter a title for your graph.
Click OK.
If you want to make a histogram with a fit... just go back up to the "Graph" menu. Select
"histogram," Click on "With Fit" , then click OK. Make sure that the correct variable is
selected. Click on "Data View" (By default, the normal distribution is selected, but you
can change that by selecting from the drop down menu). Click OK, then OK again.
Now you have a histogram of your data with a normal fit. You can edit the elements of
your graph by double clicking on them. For example, if I want to change the thickness
and color of the normal curve, I can just double click on it... select "Custom"... "Change
Size" from the drop down menu..... and you can select a new color here. Then click OK.
Well, I hope this video was helpful. If you have any questions about using Minitab, feel
free to schedule an appointment here in the learning commons. Thanks
