Hi and welcome to another episode of "Hot Collectibles"!
Episode of August, month of vacations, in fact the news are not a lot, at least the ones that caught my attention!
Let's start off with the first! Like I predicted, the minimum of pre-orders for the Mattel Movie Masters Ghostbusters Ecto-1 has not been reached, so it won't be produced, as well as the figures with removable proton pack.
This is, in my opinion, a good thing. Because $215 for a 6" scale vehicle was a true insult to the good sense. For once, the good sense won on the futilities. We're talking about collectibles, nothing necessary, so at least they must have an "ethical" price!
Let's go ahead with an impressive collectible, this Skeletor bust.
Probably you'll see less than usual, but I'm shooting this video in the evening like I don't usually do, but I couldn't find a moment to make this video!
Anyway, I'll put all the links in the info box.
The bust is made by Pop Culture Shock, very nice! 1/1 scale, life size!
This is Itakon, you'll find all the informations so it's not necessary that I add'em...
The nice thing is, in addition to the cloth cowl, the fact you can light up the eyes with various intensity levels.
Here the eyes are definitely brighter than here, where you can barely see them, maybe you can't see them at all...
Check out the pictures!
Let's go into the 1/6 world with the Asmus Toys Ace Ventura figure, Jim Carrey's character.
I must say this is not the first Ace Ventura figure, another figure has been produced previously, from "Ace Ventura: Mission Africa", the second movie. In my opinion, this one is way nicer than the new realization.
Check out the base! The base alone is fantastic! With the crocodiles or alligators, whatever...
This version doesn't convince me 100%, but Asmus Toys pays a lot of attention to the requests the fans deliver through the facebook page.
Fans complained a lot about the headsculpt and Asmus Toys announced immediately that a second headsculpt will be included with the figure without any extra charge!
It's going to be a figure with two headsculpts! The price is very interesting! 110 bucks including shipping because Asmus Toys offers worldwide free shipping!
The second headsculpt will be developed with a continous feedback with the fans through the facebook page. Here you can see the first picture of the new headsculpt.
Probably you can't see it properly, but I'll put the link in the info box!
That's it for the news that caught my attention, now I want to spend a few words on the Super Alloy line by Play Imaginative which I haven't talked about in the previous episode, despite Play Imaginative revealed a lot of new stuff at SDCC!
I wanted to remedy so I'll talk about it now!
The Super Alloy line has been launched in 2012 with a 1/6 New 52 Batman figure that received good reviews!
In 2013, Play Imaginative acquired the "Iron Man 3" license! You can easily understand that a die-cast line of figures, like the Super Alloy, with the "Iron Man" license is a perfect wedding!
This is the official site, link in the info box...not only Iron Man, the DC Comics New 52 line will continue, we have Superman, other characters are coming: Green Lantern, Flash...
A lot of stuff has been revealed at San Diego Comic-Con! This is the Itakon gallery! Let's see if there's something I wanted to show you!
They're producing a lot of Iron Man collectibles! These are the first pics of the 1/6 Mark VII, very impressive! You can feel the care they put, even for the packaging!
Certainly an impressive collectibles! Play Imaginative deserve a special consideration for this Super Alloy line!
Also because the prices are very competitive! Let's make a comparison with the Mark 42 Iron Man by Hot Toys, die-cast! The price is $309,99, 310 bucks, plus shipping.
The Super Alloy Mark VII gold edition (it's the only figure I can see the price at the moment) costs at most (retail price, non premium members) 325 bucks including shipping, Play Imaginative offers the free shipping to many Countries, including Italy!
In addition, they help with the customs. But I suggest to not lower the value on the customs declaration for the 1/6 and 1/4 scale figures, you can take some risk with the 1/12 figures maybe...
...I don't remember if I've already said it, but they're producing Iron Man figures in the 1/6 scale (like Hot Toys), in the 1/4 scale (like the giant NECA figures) and in the 1/12 scale (6" like Movie Masters, Marvel Legends) that is the scale I prefer!
Like I said, I suggest to not lower the value because if the package gets lost or the figure gets damaged, the insurance will give you back the money that has been declared on the customs declaration!
So, interesting prices, Play Imaginative defintely deserves a special consideration, that's for sure!
Let's take a look at these galleries, there's the Ani-com gallery as well, in addition to the SDCC one. Here we can see Flash, Superman...they seem very well done!
One thing I'd like to show you is the Tony Stark headsculpt they revealed that, I must say, it's the best I've seen so far! Definitely the best!
Let's see if I can find it!
Here you can see the Don Cheadle headsculpt, War Machine, James Rhodes. There should be Tony Stark as well.
Here it is! It's by far the best I've seen! Definitely better than the Hot Toys! In the battle damaged version as well. There's also the Gwyneth Paltrow "Pepper Potts" headsculpt!
So, not only armors but also very nice headsculpts!
Here you can see the Silver Centurion which is 1/12 scaled. I might buy this one instead of the Hot Toys. I must say the prices for the 1/12 figures are not low, I was expecting something less, it's about 100-120 bucks!
But I might give them a chance to see how they are in person and to review them for you!
Also because I don't own any die-cast figure so I'd like to see how they are in person!
So, like their facebook page to remain updated and put their official site, where they're always opening new pre-orders, in your favourites!
I think I've said everything! Again, I hope you like this new show, I hope you enjoyed this video and, that being said, I'll see you on the next video! BYE!
