Hi, I'm Susan Paxton on behalf of Expert Village and today we're talking about potpourri. I
like to use a large bowl to mix my potpourri in. But you don't have to have one this big
if you're just going to mix up a small batch. You can use any size bowl. At home I've used
just my regular mixing bowls, things like that. But here I try to use this big metal
bowl. Mostly because when I put the oil, if I add any oils to it and we'll talk about
that in a little bit; it doesn't get all over everything. If you use a plastic bowl be sure
not to add oil to your potpourri. I'm going to add some, just a few rose petals, mostly
for color. A little bit for the scent. Some of the baby pink roses for texture. Little
lemon verbena
and a little bit of the wild orchids. The wild orchids don't have a real strong scent
but they add a lot of texture. And of course our rose petals, rose leaves are important.
We'll add lots of lavender because I love the scent of lavender. Now we were talking
about orange peels, lemon peels, things like that.
