This next clip is on how to hire staff for your event. That may sound easy but there
as many considerations to think about. The first one is, you're on budget. Do you have
enough money in your budget to hire staff. If not, do what many conventions do, and that's
look for volunteers. There are many organizations that will help you out, for example, I had
an organization called UAO, United Anime Organization, who volunteered to come in and helped organize
and run the event, to man the doors. On the sci-fi side, I had an organization called
USS Black Star that brought volunteers and to do exactly the same thing. I was able to
call on a rival convention called Chibepa, whose organizer came out with all of their
staff and helped me at no cost to man the doors, watch the flow of traffic, and also
to look after the vendors that were coming in and out. And believe it or not, these rival
conventions can actually be a great resource to help you organize your own event.
