In the era of environmental challenges and sustainable production,
some industries are re-examining and redesigning their activities more responsibly.
At the heart of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, Chimex is conducting an innovative initiative: the "100% Clear Water" project.
[music]
What is the objective? Treat, make good use of and then return a part of the water that it uses back into the natural environment.
[music]
Who are the parties involved? Chemists of course, along with ash trees and reeds.
[music]
Come and discover the amazing journey of purifying water.
[music]
Water plays an essential role in creating and assembling the various molecules that make up our products.
[music]
It is used for countless purposes such as diluting, mixing, cleaning, etc.
[music]
When it comes out of Production Unit 1, the water is laden with organic and
chemical components that cannot be treated in a wastewater treatment plant.
[music]
Our project enables us to purify our effluents.
[music]
How? It all starts here.
[music]
The 100% Clear Water project begins with a purification preparation process, called pre-treatment.
There is a specific circuit for each category of effluents.
[music]
The first step consists of individually cracking the chemical compounds in the different effluents.
[music]
To achieve this, 3 methods are used: stripping,
[music]
oxidation
[music]
and electrolysis
[music]
The effluents then undergo a specific patented treatment, called SOFHYS®.
[music]
These four processes aim to "break up" the molecules and recompose new structures, specific to natural treatment by phytorestauration.
