During the promotional tour of our album "di Carne, di Anima",
we've been playing all over Italy,
in live clubs and in progressive festivals.
Recently we've had the honour to play as opening act
before the well known progressive band "Le Orme".
Many people label us as a "progressive" band
but we don't agree that much.
We like other definitions best,
such as "complex rock" or "psycho prog".
We just don't feel authorized to define what "progressive rock" is.
We consider "progressive rock" a big case from which
we can draw out the experimental side of rock.
Our red overalls are the visual feature of all our live concerts.
In this very historical moment in which look is so important,
we wanted to have a visual reference
to our name "Gran Turismo Veloce".
The band's name is a direct homage
to the famous sporty Italian cars from the '70s
which were very popular, both in Italy and abroad.
We are definitely inspired by 70's as they represent
a huge experimental period in which both new sounds
and musical genres came to light.
Those sounds and melodies are very much recognizable even today
and we try to bring them back in our album and on stage
by using vintage instruments and trying to maintain
the same creative freedom typical in those years.
Our first album "di Carne, di Anima"
has been published on March 2011 by Lizard Records,
which is one of the most important Italian
modern progressive labels.
