Part of the growing knowledge that we're finding about diabetes and the risk factors associated
with diabetes is that ... is the direct correlation between erectile function and heart disease.
There's been growing evidence over the past few years looking at this very fact. If a
ma ... if a diabetic man has low erectile function, he has a much, much greater risk
of developing heart disease and having a heart attack. This has been no more evident than
in a paper published in the American Heart Journal in July of 2012 where they looked
at men less than 60 years of age with diabetes and found an enormous correlation between
erectile dysfunction and heart disease and I'll quote, identification of erectile dysfunction
particularly in men less than 60 years old and those with diabetes represents an important
first step towards cardiovascular risk detection and reduction. The important thing for diabetic
men who are experiencing erectile dysfunction is to let their doctor know of the erectile
dysfunction because the risk for heart disease and heart attack is much, much greater and
needs to be identified early.
