This is Don Daly representing expertvillage.com and in this clip we are going to demonstrate
a variation of opening the legs from the guard position. We are in the guard position, we
are going to open his legs to pass his guard okay, so let's say he is a big strong guy,
he has got his guard on tight, feet are locked up, I am pushing him back. I can't open his
guard. He is too strong. So what I am going to do is we are going to oppose the foot up,
so we opposed in this side the same side as his foot. We are going to come under. So we
go through here. I come under then I grab my ankle. So we are holding tight here, make
sure he does not grab my arm, hold me up into here, we have got the belt tight, elbow here,
I got my ankle real slowly I am just going to move my foot out, I want to keep moving
it, keep moving it and keep moving it till he open his legs, feet are open there and
from there you can guard pass take side control. So important he has got his guard on. I cannot
push back, I cannot open his legs, opposed up to keep your hip turned so I can slide
my hand in. Okay if do not turn my hip there is no room, so what I have to do is turn my
hip, come under, grab the ankle okay we slowly just move it out, keep moving, keep moving,
keeping his arm in check, once we are here, we pinned the leg, we go over and take side
control.
