Ok, now we're going to show you how to grip the nunchucks. What you want to do, is you
hold out your nunchucks. This is, this is actually a pretty good example right here.
They have the metal band here, across the nunchucks. When you grab on to your nunchucks,
you want to make sure that you choke up, close towards the tip. You also, I have a tendency
to use my thumb, as far as pressing up against to control the nunchucks, whether I'm working
a Figure 8, or Inverted Figure 8, or I'm trying to flip it around, or whatever I'm trying
to do. It helps as far as being able to control the nunchucks. You never want to have your
hand in the middle, because you're actually trying to carry not only the weight of this
end of the stick and the chain, but also, now you're trying to manipulate this much
of the stick. Anything past this part of the hand, you're not necessarily trying to manipulate
that type of weight, and every little inch counts. Also, not only do you have this grip,
you also have an inverted grip, where you can change around in the other direction,
and grab it on that side, and that will become useful, especially later when you're trying
to flip the nunchucks and switch from stick to stick, so you can still actually work Figure
8's from this direction, and then just flip it over, and now, you're back to your regular
grip, so again, primary place that you want to grip your nunchucks, is right here, near
the top. Don't get too close to the chain, because you're going to find yourself tripping
up. Don't get too far way, because you're going to be trying to manipulate too much
weight, so there you go. That's just the two basic grips of hoarding your nunchucks.
