Isn't it amazing how a sport comes right off the streets and then makes it way right around the world?
On top of Capitol Hill, people are mixing it up on converted tennis courts with bikes and balls.
A true Seattle invention!

People have moved to Seattle to play bike polo.

Both sides line up on the opposite ends of the court.
We're about to play right now.
Someone hits the ball right in the middle of the court.
And one time when they're ready says marco.
As soon as the other team is ready, they say polo.
>> Polo!
>> The two fastest people jump out.

>> Yeah.
You're supposed to stay on your bike.
Other than that, the only rule is don't hurt yourself.
But we try and force each other off our bikes too.
That's what our shoulders are for.
>> As long as you can ride a bicycle, you can absolutely come and try out bike polo.
>> We'll provide helmets and mallets.
>> We have areas for new players so they can get a feel for it.
And especially welcome women players.

But very quickly, you pick it up.
