My name is Kelly Rudman. I'm an Otolaryngologist with the Boys Town Ear,
Nose and Throat
Institute. I graduated medical school from the University of Nebraska
and then went on to complete residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin
in Milwaukee. I have been with the Boys Town Ear, Nose and Throat Institute since
2013.
I became a doctor because I've always wanted to
do something where I felt like I was working with people and helping people.
I became interested in ENT when I was in medical school because I thought
it was great that you could see patients in the clinic
and then follow them through their surgery and recovery.
It was awesome that you were able to see
pediatric patients as well as geriatric patients and anything in between.
I come from a big family
and have seen some family members go through
medical diagnosis and so anytime I'm in a patient's room
I really like to think that I'm treating them how I would treat
one of my family members. I love
helping people get better and seeing them when they come back to clinic
after surgery or after even just a medication and they feel better
and when they say thank you. It's a great reward. If there's a problem that I
think we need to investigate further I go home and I read about it
or talk to my colleagues and that's a great thing about working at Boys Town.
There's always someone that's been here for a long time
always someone that seen these problems before and so we often communicate
between our colleagues
so that we're getting you the best care possible.
