What we have here, is a basic cylinder that we've thrown to create a plant pot. The main
difference with the plant pot, of course, is going to be in the trimming. When we get
to trimming it, we're going to trim the base, and put a hole in it, so the water can escape
through it. But right now, we're going to shape this, into a pretty standard plant pot
type shape. And to do that, we're going to want to flair this pot out. Now, I'm going
to use my hand on the inside, and a rib on the outside, because I want straight sides
to it. We could do it anyway. I could leave finger marks in there. I could do a bunch
of different things, but, I'm just going to show you, a pretty standard form. Now, first
I want to get this, rid of this little bit of clay on the bottom here. Cause, that's
just going to hamper me later on. And, there we go, get rid of that little bit of clay.
I'm going to put my hand inside the pot, and this hand on the outside with the rib, and
I'm just going to start to flair it out, using the rib as a guide. And you can see how that
is, just stretching out. Let's do that again. Add a little bit of water on the inside. A
good way to do that, is just hold your sponge, like this. And, let the water dribble down
your finger, onto the top edge of your pot, and it will just go straight down into the
bowls, and moisten up the pot for you. OK, now we are just going to do this one more
time, going to use the outer edge, going to expand, and search out. OK now, as you can
see there, we've thrown what looks to be, quite a nice little plant pot. The last thing
we're going to want to do, is do the lip. Now, on a, a regular pot, you can leave a,
a thin lip, like this. On a plant pot, it's important to have a nice fat lip, because
it's going to be used in and around the house, and in the garden. And, you don't want a thin
lip, that if it knocks into something, it can crack. So, next I'm going to show you
how to, create a nice fat lip, on the edge of this plant pot.
