Music Playing.
How important is food? Very important.
I think eating is a process, it's an experience you have to go through. This definitely raises the bar for that.
We think offering a great food program on campus is so important. It just enhances the whole student experience.
Music playing.
Everything we do on campus today is designed for greater excellence. So when we talked about food and dinning opportunities for our students to live and enjoy the campus environment, we talked about excellence.
And that is what Crossroads is all about.
First and foremost would obviously be flavor but right behind flavor I feel is authenticity. Students want authenticity.
That is why I envision this to be a place where students can sample the flavor of a different culture and learn new traditions and taste from their peers.
The marche at Crossroads has seven different food stations in one beautiful location. We serve only the freshest ingredients and then our chefs cook the meal right in front of you.
There is also lots of International flavor, everything from Asian to Italian, to our most unique spot The Churrascaria.
The Churrascaria is a Brazilian style of meat cooking. It's mostly marinated meats cooked on a rotisserie style. Like tonight what we are serving is top round with mozzarella steak seasoning. We have Cajun chicken.
Today we have a Chinese noodle station. Traditional Chinese noodle soups with a selection of broths. But another day it will be Caribbean.
And another day it will be North African. It'll be the flavors of Tunisia and Morocco and Egypt. It'll be very very exciting and very authentic.
I got some exotic stuff like tofu and cabbage in my soup. It was unbelievable like the broth was really healthy, it was really light.
There is definitely a lot of options and I don't eat meat so it's really nice to still have a lot to eat when you are a vegetarian.
Our team traveled across the country to award winning universities. Then we talked to our own students, faculty and staff to find out what they really wanted.
They came back to us that they wanted that feeling of the restaurant. You came in, there was music playing there was an aroma in the air, there was cooking going on, there was activity, an opportunity to really build a community.
We ate at one of the tables, the grabbed something for dessert then moved over to the fire place it was really cool.
I thought it was amazing and I took a picture of the high top tables and my cupcake which is really good.
Research tells us that students who live on campus will do better academically and have a greater chance of success and completion of college.
If they are satisfied with their food, they will be satisfied with their on campus living.
You kind of expect cafeteria food when you come to college but this is beyond anything else I have ever had. Ever.
