Okay, we're talking about how to write a great persuasive speech, and with every persuasive
speech we have to take a look at three different kinds of appeals, and it is logos, pathos,
and ethos. You are going to try to appeal, meaning use one of these. Now there's absolutely
nothing wrong with using two or three, but you definitely want to have one taking into
consideration your speech. The first one is logos, and that is appealing to logic. Depending
on what your topic is, how you're going to present it, you may want to appeal to your
audience's logic. Then we've got pathos. Pathos is writing the entire speech, having the whole
topic relating to emotion. You're going to appeal to their emotion, your audience's emotion.
And the third one is ethos, and that is appealing to their credibility. Saying to your audience,
I know that you know this, so I'm asking you to do something about it. Whichever one you
choose, you have to appeal to one, logic, emotion, or credibility. Which will it be?
