you know valentine's day is right around the corner let's face it guys
you need to make up for last year
nothing says love like dinner made from scratch
how about lasagna
especially made with johnsonville italian sausage
you start by browning a package
of all-natural johnsonville ground italian sausage
make sure there's no pink in it
so that's cooked all the way through
you want to take one medium onion, chopped
two cloves of garlic, chopped
mix that in with the sausage
and you are going to let that saute for about four minutes
until the onions are soft
and then we're going to add twenty four ounces of your favorite marinara sauce
let that cook
and let those johnsonville italian sausage spices
seep in
now
we made twelve lasagna noodles according to the package directions. we boiled them
drained the, and then brushed them with a little bit of olive oil
so they won't stick together
then, prepare a baking dish about nine inches by thirteen inches
and two inches deep
now we put in our base of sauce on the bottom
then
we are going to lay down our first layer
of lasagna noodles
we're going to add our ricotta cheese mixture. now this is a fifteen ounce
package of ricotta cheese with two cups of chopped spinach, a quarter of a
cup parmesan cheese, and one beaten egg
mix this up
and put a quarter of it down
on your first layer of noodles
keep those noodles rules down to get an even spread
we're going to put aboutt a cup
of our johnsonville italian sausage and sauce mix
then we are going to add about a quarter of a cup
of shredded mozzarella cheese
there's your first layer
you're going to repeat this three times
now this is our fourth
and final layer
and if you don't have a pan that's big enough for four lawyers don't worry
three layer lasagna is just fine
lay down our new noodles
put down our ricotta cheese
i really love this final layer because this is the one that's going to have
that
big bubbling layer of cheese on top that makes lasagna so good
then
final layer of our
sausage
and sauce mix
spread that out evenly
add our mozzarella cheese
ah, put the whole thing on there, why not
then this final layer
gets parmesan cheese, about a quarter of a cup
and then we're going to top that off
with some chopped
dried
oregano
looks good
adds a nice little kick a taste of the top there
then, we're going to suit up
we're going to put this lasagna in the oven
at three hundred and fifty degrees
for about forty five minutes
or until it gets all hot and nice bubbly on the top
and when it is done
you have got a big
bubbling
dish of love
that is going to make this valentine's day one she will remember for a long
long time
let it sit for ten minutes
cut it and serve!
