Students have got a fantastic centre at CitySpace, obviously a lot of money has been spent on
that.
We've got well trained staff who are here to cater for their needs and also numerous
items of equipment, so there shouldn't be any kind of waiting for exercises.
This is a sign of a university which cares about its students,
cares about the community as well,
and it wants to give them the best possible access,
and I think CitySpace certainly does that.
When students leave here having experienced this brand new,
state of the art facility all HD tapeless
they're going to be way ahead of the curve of any other student
that graduates in this country.
When people graduate and look for jobs, what the employer asks for is,
in addition to the degree that students receive, they want to see what students can do.
And the show-reel that our students are going to leave with is going to be
every bit as good or better than pretty much any place in the country.
Thre's never been a better time to come and study Radio at Sunderland.
We want to be the best - we want to be the best for our students,
we want to provide the best training, we want to provide
the best experience of learning Radio,
not just programme making, but programme ideas as well.
Here, at the National Glass Centre we've got an incredible range of tools.
One of those things is the water jet cutter, one of only a handful in the world
where students get this close to it.
We also got a screen printing facility, where one can create
a permanent image on glass and ceramics.
We also got some of the biggest kilns in Europe; there is not a better place in the world
to get a combination of contemporary and traditional tools that students can access.
