Hi, I'm Trevor Bending from Optics Planet. If you're looking to update your handgun,
you might want to check out the Trijicon Tritium Night Sights. Trijicon
night sights use tritium
which is a self luminescent isotope. So it's actually going to glow
and that's perfect for shooting in darker conditions,
if your eyes would need to pick up you sights a little better,
you really want to take a look at the tijicon tritium night sights.
Trijicon night sights come in a variety of colors, now the front sight is always
going to be green because your eye can distinguish green better than other
colors. So, you're going to have a green on green, so a green rear. You can have a yellow rear
and then a red rear. There's no, really, which one's better than the other, it's
whatever you have a personal preference, whatever your eyes like better in regards to
contrast.
Now, we've got a lot of different fits from Trijicon. Here I have a set on my Springfield
XD.
We have them for Glocks, we have them for Sigs, we have them from Smith and Wessons.
Trijicon really does a nice job in offering a variety of
fits. Chances are we're going to have a night sight that's really going to fit your
pistol
very well.
Now Trijicon recommends professional installation by a gunsmith
and it's really needed. I can tell you from mounting these sights on here
that you really have to put some effort into it so really use a gunsmith to mount
the sights, unless you have the equipment or you've done it before. Now,
Trijicon offers two different styles of night sights: you have their regular night
sights
and then they have their newer HD Series.
The HD Series is kind of giving you a lot of different features. One of the
first things is the rear sight has a ramp serrated
back to it. What that's going to do is cut down on glare so you're not going to get a
shine
in a situation where you really don't want to have anything
blocking your eyesight or affecting your eyesight
when trying to get on target. You also have a wider U-notch cut, so you can pick
up that front sight a lot faster and, once again, get on target faster. You really
notice the front side has an orange ring around it and you're probably like 'Well, Trevor, you said all front sights are green.'
Well, it's actually green tritium in the front, in a capsule,
but there's a phosphorescent orange paint
around that and that's just to draw your eye to that front sight a little bit faster. You're going to see
that orange,
you're going to see that green, you're going to have good contrast right there, and you're going to be able to get on
target very easy.
Now, Trijicon offers the HD night sight
in both the orange phosphorescent paint and then a yellow phosphorescent paint on
the front sight.
Now, Trijicon makes night sights for a variety of pistols but they also have them for some
long guns as well, so be sure to check that out.
Now, night sights are for
anybody:
the casual shooter, the
law enforcement office, the operator, anybody can use night sights.
If you just want faster target acquisition, if you want to be able to
pull of those sights a lot easier with your eyesight,
it really helps having that luminescent, that glow from the sights. You
can find Trijicon Tritium night sights at opticsplanet.com. I'm
Trevor Bending. Thanks for watching.
