Hello again. Quick wordy fact. There is a difference between
acronyms and initialisms. Acronyms are pronounced as a word – like ZIP code which stands for
Zoning Improvement Plan while initialisms are pronounced as letters – like HTML which
stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. And the world's longest initialism is actually
from the USSR:
In English it is this: And in Cyrillic it is this.
But its English translation is this: Laboratory for Shuttering, Reinforcement, Concrete and
Ferroconcrete Operations for Composite-monolithic and Monolithic Constructions of the Department
of Technology of Building Assembly Operations of the Scientific Research Institute of the
Organization for Building Mechanization and Technical Aid of the Academy of Building and
Architecture of the USSR. It was found in the Concise Dictionary of
Soviet Terminology. And I just found it interesting, so thank
you for watching.
