Hello. If you're one of our millions of publishers the chances are you're pretty
happy with AdSense and you get our policies
However a very small minority of our publishers don't follow our policies, in
fact many don't even know that they are not following our policies but would if
they could understand them
So we have made these videos to really help everyone understand our policies
and keep their sites and business running smoothly
And the area we're going to discuss today
well it's adult content - yes yes I know it's not always an easy subject to talk about
but we have to in order to explain our policies
So if you're okay with it
we'll continue
So here's the thing
Pages displaying Google ads may not include or link to ***
adult or mature content. That's it
No ifs, ands or buts, because most advertisers would never agree to place
ads on these sites. By avoiding sites like this we maintain revenue from our
advertisers which is then passed on to you
The other thing is is that this isn't an exact science
What could be art to one person
could be offensive to another
Your site content isn't just analysed by robots,
we also have a team of people who can make intelligent, human judgments too
So let's go through some examples of content areas that we do not permit
one at a time
If you have images videos or cartoons which contain full nudity or ***
activities on your pages
guess what - we consider it pornographic and it's not permitted
Well that brings us onto number two
No sheer see-through or strategically covered nudity
Sorry, that's not gonna work
Sexually gratifying stuff, basically any images or videos involving clothed lewd
or provocative poses and or close-ups of body parts and
you know which ones I'm talking about
This, this one can be confusing
If a site depicts people using objects
in a festishistic manner
well then it is a fetish site
and not permitted
Then these next two examples deal with written things but the rules still
basically apply
Any explicit text,
adult comments, spam and adult links, especially in user generated content
or in networks of sites
are not permitted
So imagine you have a site called ****
and the word ****
is in enormous letters on multiple pages throughout the site
That would be an example of extreme profanity
and is not permitted
The same goes for sites about words like ***
and things like ***. A good general rule is
if you shouldn't say it in public
it's ***** profane
It's that simple
Even simpler however is the general rule
If you wouldn't show it in polite company
we probably wouldn't want our advertisers to be on it
So that's it
We want everyone to succeed and keep working together and hopefully
this has made things a little clearer
Goodbye for now!
