My name is Abby Jones and we are talking about moving into a new space and how to make that
process easy and efficient. So, right now specifically, we're talking about how to arrange
furniture in your living space. So, other than your couch, and coffee table, and shelves
which are pieces that a lot of people have, their miscellaneous pieces of furniture that
will vary from household to household. Some of the miscellaneous pieces of furniture that
I have, are this stool that goes along with my couch, I have a footstool kind of thing.
And these big pillows that I like to use to sit on, that I put out when guests come over
and that kind of thing. Other pieces of furniture that people might have are additional chairs,
side tables, a T.V. table, these kinds of things. So, things to think about when you're
placing this furniture is just, things that I like to think about are how to create intimate
and harmonious spaces. So, for instances what I'm going to do with this, with my, with this
footstool is since I don't have that much room in my living space, the central living
space. I'm actually going to put it behind my couch, so that it's over here and that
will help, that would I guess fall under the category of creating a harmonious space because
it's not going to be just sitting out in the middle of somewhere. The pillows, because
I have a small space, I'm actually going to put them over to one side of my shelves as
storage, but I can pull them out when guests come over, or when I want to, to put them
on the floor next to my coffee table so people can sit on them. Something I like to think
about when I'm placing chairs, although I won't have any in this particular living space,
is creating kind of, conversation group areas, so think about your house. If you had three
people come over to your house, or four people, how could they all sit so that nobody felt
like they were on the other side of the universe or, or your living room, as it may be. And,
how you can create small intimate spaces within your larger space.
