As you read the business section of the newspaper you come across a term that you have heard
for many many years but it is becoming more and more prevalent and you are not certain
what it is. The term is insider trading. Hello I'm Robert Todd and I am here to answer the
question what is insider trading? Well in the simplest form it is the trading of a corporation's
stock by corporate insiders who are either officers of the corporation, members of the
board of directors, or key employees who take advantage of information that is not public,
that is it hasn't been made available to the public and by doing so it is deemed that they
have a chance to influence the purchase and sale of the stock contrary to information
that the public has. If you find yourself faced with this situation where you are either
the party that is being accused of the inside trading or you are a share holder that feels
that you have been somehow damaged by insider trading we would recommend that you seek the
services or consultation of a lawyer that specializes in the securities and exchange
commission legal body of work. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching.
