Hi there I'm Melanie and this is an exercise to help you to reclaim your energy when you've
been giving too much. So I'm going to explain and talk through the exercise with you and
then I'm going to go through it step by step slowly so that you can do it with me. OK,
so the first part of the exercise is to help you to open up your breath and increase your
energy flow. Now I'm doing this because when we've been doing something that's not fruitful
for us or uncomfortable for us we tend to tense up and this includes tensing our breath.
Now when we tense our breath we're obviously not breathing fully and our breath carries
our energy round our system. So if the breath is tight then the energy flow within us becomes
contracted, which is not comfortable at all. Ok, so we'll get that going again and then
we'll move on to breathing back in the energy that you've given away. Now we do this because
or energy follows thought. And if we've been really thinking about someone or something,
kind of over thinking, our energy is gonna have gone outside ourselves leaving us feeling
depleted, frustrated and yeh, short changed. Ok, so that's why we're doing that. OK so
we'll no move onto doing the exercise so I want you to sit comfortably, both feet on
the floor and close your eyes and I'm just going to ask you to focus on your breath just
the in breath and the out breath. Don't try to change it just notice how you're breathing
and then I'd like you to take 3 deep breaths. Now on the in breath, I'd like you to focus
on breathing in from the feet, so it goes, it goes all the way up the body to the top
of your head and then on the out breath the energy flows back down. So we'll do that together,
in to the top of the head and out, flowing back down to the bottom of the feet. Again,
in from the bottom of the feet, breathing in the energy, expanding your lungs as you
breath in and on the out breath just allowing that energy and that breath to go down your
torso, down your legs and back down through your feet. Ok, one last time, nice deep breath
now in from the feet, all the way up the legs into the belly open the lungs, into the chest,
up to the top of the head and then breathing out and allowing the energy just to flow back
down your body. And as you're sitting here, just take note of how you're currently feeling.
OK. I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to keep hold of the first thing that
comes to mind when I say 'you've been giving too much'. Now it's probably a person you're
thinking about, so I just want you to ask yourself the question 'did this person ask
you to give you, ask you to give them too much. Did they ask you for help, or as much
help as you've given. And just focus on your body as you sit with that question. Notice
any changes in your breath and do keep breathing quite deeply and quite slowly so you're gradually
relaxing as well. Ok. Now I want you to visualise or sense, however you sense that's ok, all
the energy that you've given, or put this person's way. Where's it come from in your
body, has it taken a lot of effort to really input with that person and how's it gone there?
How's that feel for you? And when you sense of visualise this somehow, it's now time to
breath your energy back in. Ok, again so feet, make sure your feet are on the floor and you're
gonna take a deep breath in a second and breathe back in through the nostrils the energy that
you gave away. Ok ready? and breathing in, ah ok, let your energy back in through the
nostrils, fill up your lungs and on the out breath just allow it to circulate round your
system. This is your energy, just your energy that you're reclaiming and it's easy to take
back. So do that a couple of times, really breathe it in. Really enjoy getting yourself
back. Fill your lungs, fill your belly, fill your chest with your energy and then on the
out breath, relax, and feel the energy circulating round your body and round your system. Ok,
so you can do this as much and as many times as you like. If you've been giving too much
to one person or party, then it's very likely that you've been giving your energy away to
