Reviewing a business on local business review websites such as Yelp is one of the best ways
to show your appreciation for great service. This brief guide will show you how to leave
review on Yelp. To start, navigate your web browser to www.Yelp.com.
Enter the name of the business you wish to review and its location. Then perform a search.
I’ll review the Trader Joe’s grocery store in my neighborhood.
Locate the local business within the resulting search results page and click on its name
to access Yelp’s detailed listing for the business.
The local business listing includes basic information such as location, phone number
and a website, as well as many social options and reviews. This establishment already has
20 reviews from Yelp users. I want to add my experience, so I’ll click
on the Write a Review button to get started. First I’ll leave a rating from one to five
stars. Next, I’ll leave a descriptive account of
my experience with the local business. My goal is to write a helpful, yet honest review
in an effort to better inform the Yelp community on the merits of this particular business.
When finished, click on the Post button. If you’re not logged in to Yelp, you’ll see
a Sign Up and Post button instead. If you don’t have a Yelp account, you can
create one in a few simple steps. If you have a Facebook account, you’ll see an option
to create a Yelp account using your Facebook credentials.
I already have a Yelp account so I’ll click on the Log In Now button and enter my account
information on the next screen. Once you’ve authenticated your account with
Yelp, you’ll receive a confirmation that your review has been posted.
Now you’ll be able to see your review when you revisit the local business’ Yelp listing.
Remember, leaving an honest, helpful review is one of the best ways you can support your
favorite local businesses. Be sure to leave reviews often on local business review websites
such as Yelp.com, Google Places and City Search. Thanks for watching!
