Generally people tend to feel stressed when they feel like they're overloaded and there's too many demands on them.
Sometimes you've got social life, academic life, that can start to feel quite stressful.
Just stay calm, keep your head down and relax. There's no need to panic.
Argh forget that - panic. If you don't know it by now, you're probably not gonna know it.
Just go out with your friends and start thinking about resits
Exams are obviously a really stressful time.
One of the things is to try and manage your time as best as possible and get a
balance between doing some things that you enjoy and that are going to reduce your anxiety levels a little bit
so that might be, you know, having some time to do some sport or hanging out with friends
whatever it is that reduces your stress levels.
At the Wellbeing Centre we do a workshop on exam stress and preparing for exams
and we try to do one of those just before the exam time.
Look at all these new people. Imagine you going over there and saying hello
they'll probably be like "yeah yeah, and so what".
Ignore him. Remember - everyone at uni's in the same position. It's all about making friends and just being confident in yourself.
When you come to university there's gonna be lots of opportunities to meet new people
but sometimes it can feel quite overwhelming. Joining clubs and societies is another really
good way of trying to meet like-minded people that are gonna be interested in the same things as you.
Don't worry, you know, if you don't know anyone or you're going on your own because
there's going to be loads of other people in the same boat.
Ohhhh you're a long way from home ain't you?
Mum'll just be getting the tea on; you'll be sitting down with dad to watch the match.
There are loads of exciting things to do at uni.
When everybody comes to university they're bound to kinda miss home a little bit; it's, you know, a really big step
and you're gonna miss sort of old family and friends, things like that.
Some things to do to try and help with homesickness
might be just trying to get involved as much as possible with different things happening in the university
joining some clubs and societies, trying to make new friends and have new experiences.
Maybe looking around your new home in Exeter and just trying to orientate yourself a little bit.
It can be a big change in the way you learn at uni. Don't worry about it though, that's what you're here for - to learn.
Stuff that. If you get the answer wrong, you'll look like a right prat.
What will all your classmates think of you? Oh God, what if there's a presentation?
I don't think this is right for you.
There's always going to be certain elements of the course which some students are going to find more difficult than others.
For example, some people find presentations really kind of nerve wracking and difficult.
One tip would be to try and replicate that situation and practise it as much as possible,
so when the real thing happens you'll feel more comfortable in yourself and less anxious.
Well that's it, the money's all gone. Well done, you've spent it all.
Let's get you a nice cardboard box to live in.
It hasn't all gone, just getting tight is all and that's normal.
You just need to step back, make a plan and a budget.
A lot of students when they come to university might find that money can become a bit of a difficulty
or they might start to get in a little bit of debt but it's good to try
and budget as much as possible, know how much you've got to spend.
If you do get in any money troubles then there's always the Students' Guild
which are there to sort of provide support and advice around money and can help out.
So if you are feeling stressed in any way, we are here to help.
We've got lots of different practitioners, different workshops and groups,
anything that you might need for your particular problem
