Hi, I am Candi Cane-Canncel with Expert Village. So we have made our really easy pattern pieces
for our really fun stuffed pin cushion. Now I am going to show you how to take you pattern
pieces, put it on your fabric and cut it out. So it's really simple. Just take your felt.
Usually felt will come with a little sticker, so you just want to pull that off. Love, this
color is called bubble gum. Fold your piece in half and you are going to be cutting out
2 of the body and also 2 of the head. We are just going to line them up. Then just take
some tailors chalk and just go ahead and trace your pieces. You could also just pin it together
and then cut around it with scissors. I think it is just easier to trace it because I am
using cardboard for the pattern and I think it is just a little too thick to pin on to
the fabric. You just want to go ahead and oh, we actually forgot to cut out the little
leg and arm. Hi, I am Candi Cane-Canncel with Expert Village. In this clip, I am going to
show you how to cut out your pattern. So for your little leg shape you are actually going
to be cutting out 8 pieces because you are going to need two each for both of the legs
and two each for both of the arms. So we will go ahead and trace that. And the whole idea
of this doll is just like a fun sort of fluffy doll. If the measurements are not perfect
and you cut it a little too small or one comes out too big, it all just add to the character
of it. Okay, then take your other piece of felt to cut out to trace out the remaining
two arms. And always when you are
cutting things out of fabric, you just want to conserve as much as possible. Even though
this is felt and its only about 20 or 25 cents a sheet, you still just want to put it as
close to the edge as possible. So once you do that, it is time to cut them out. Just
go ahead and cut out all your pieces. And just kind of hold on them and trim around
to make sure that they stay even. Or you could just go ahead and stick a pin in the center
and then just cut around it to make sure that they don't shift. As you cut your pieces out,
just go ahead and stack them. And you also can just keep them pinned. So that you don't
loose track of what you cut out or what you have. And now the next thing is how to piece
it all together.
