This is a 1st step towards solving things. It represents proof of principles that with
corporation among all the stakeholders that we can actually get something done. I think
we all have ritual worries as the Commissioner stated that this doesn't solve the problem.
But, it gives an indication that we have ways of solving specific shortages.
The key thing is to parents need not to panic. The 1st things that they have to discover
or find out from their physician is are the drugs in short supply going to affect them
or their child's therapy. Many treatments are with drugs that aren't with short supply.
Some institutions have a good supply of drugs and this is not going to affect their child's
care. So, I think the important thing is before you panic, the time is to discuss these issues
with their physicians to make certain that this has any affect on you. And to know that
their important resources like the FDA is going to bat for you and is trying to solve
the problem. I think this is the key message.
It is profitable as long as it is no problem. But, once they run into a manufacture difficulty
or speed bump and they have to talk about a substantial investment to solve the problem,
that maybe what is the barrier to stay in the business.
They rally around the children which of course if you don't rally around the children, you
don't have a heart but this is a problem that extend beyond children. It's adults with cancer
as well and other drugs we really have to focus on. I hope this is a 1st step and just
sort of letting us knows what the future is going to be like.
