Everyone can quickly learn these three bike hand signals for turning left, right, and
stopping. In fact, you probably know them! Before we begin, let’s lay out some ground
rules: * Signal before leaving a lane.
* Use a bike hand signal as soon as possible. Give at least 25 feet of warning.
* Be sure to practice to improve your balance! * Try to establish eye contact with drivers
before turning. *These rules apply only in countries where
people drive on the right side of the road, like the U.S. *
BIKE HAND SIGNAL FOR TURNING LEFT - Extend your left hand straight out to the left.
BIKE HAND SIGNAL FOR TURNING RIGHT - Extend the left arm out. Bend the elbow 90 degrees
with hand pointed up. BIKE HAND SIGNAL FOR STOPPING - Extend the
arm to the left, bend the elbow 90 degrees with the hand facing down.
